As part of the $1 billion modernization effort to establish Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point as a premier F-35 hub, Foxhill Construction executed key scopes on the P197 F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter Maintenance Hangar and supporting facilities. As a UL-certified installer, Foxhill performed single-source firestopping and smoke treatment, including top and bottom of wall assemblies, wall and slab edge joints, MEP penetrations, and stenciling. The team also installed waterproofing, joint sealants, and expansion joints throughout the hangar to ensure performance and compliance with stringent military standards. Foxhill’s expansion joint scope extended to the connected parking garage, where vertical pre-compressed silicone-faced foam joints were installed between the garage structure and stair/elevator towers. Additionally, slab-to-slab, traffic-rated expansion joints were installed at garage-to-ramp and garage-to-tower connections, supporting durability and movement tolerance in high-traffic conditions.
